Jess Shanahan joins the eSkootr Championship as team principal of RM Electric
I’m going to be a race team boss again! ⚡ But this time I’m going electric.
I will be joining the 24/25 eSkootr Championship (eSC) season as team principal of RM Electric.
This is a chance for me to blend two exciting areas of my life. I can use both my motorsport and e-mobility experience to bring something fresh to the championship.
While e-scooter racing might be new to me, I’ve been a team boss before. Back in 2016, I ran the Porsche race team Turn Eight Racing. During that time, we had loads of drivers coming to us asking how we managed to secure so much sponsorship. We had an incredible first season and came away with armfuls of trophies.
But I soon saw that I had an opportunity to help talented athletes get on the grid and stay there. I left the team behind and set up Racing Mentor.
This was alongside building a brand for myself within e-mobility and energy as a journalist, content writer, and speaker.
I’m so excited about this because I get to bring traditional motorsport experience to a new form of racing while promoting electric mobility. The eSkootr Championship is built on a foundation of sustainability, accessibility, and inclusivity — all things that are important to me and my business.
I can’t wait to share more behind-the-scenes insights into this new form of racing.
