Over the past few weeks I’ve been working on a new app launch. Huayu is a messaging app that lets you add game filters to your photos. Send your game to your friends and challenge them to complete the game to see your picture and message. This takes messaging to a whole new level and I’ve been having loads of fun with it, even if I’m still no good at the games…

The app is now available on iOS and Android and is undergoing continuous development to improve, add more games and incorporate user feedback.

The folks at the development company Short, Bald & Lanky (SB&L), teamed up with artist Otto Schade to put on an event in London over the weekend. I was on hand to speak to passersby, hand out free t-shirts, and make sure the whole thing ran smoothly.

As much as I love journalism and the written word, I always have a fantastic time organising events like this. It was great to have a group of roller girls on hand to help us flyer and it was amazing to meet members of the public just as enthusiastic about tech and art as I am.
